Ina Sarcevic (U of AZ) neutrinos at high E



  • Known nu's: CNB, solar nu's, SN 1987A, atm nu's, extragalactic nu's

  • UHECN's: ~1e21 eV

  • Sources: Cosmogenic or GZK nu's, AGN, GRB's

  • Mkn 421 at z = .003 was the first AGN seen by Whipple at TeV gamma rays

  • If the production isn't 1:2:0 then there isn't a 1:1:1 for e:mu:tau seen on the Earth eventually..? i don't get how this works with maximal mixing

  • Expts: look at muon tracks, and some look at em and hadronic showers.

  • nu_tau have the regeneration effect. the effect depends on the angle of incidence quite a bit.

  • XD, and much else...
