Tommaso Dorigo (Padova/INFN) on CDF results

CDF roundup:

-- 1GeV uncert. on m_t carries same info for M_H as 7MeV uncert. on M_W.

-- Current m_t is 172 GeV +- 2, 1.1%. seems pretty stable now. it's moved around, but it was found in 1994 at 174 GeV, so it hasn't really changed all that much!

-- Vtb = .88 +- 0.14

-- Single top: close to seeing it at 5sigma.

-- B Physics: B_s mixing, baryons, lifetime meast competitive with B factories

-- Example: Xi_b

-- Search for B_s --> mu mu. BTSM can increase the SM 4e-9 prediction by 3 orders. current limit: 5e-8

-- Exotic searches: charginos, squarks, gluinos -- none seen yet

-- EW standard candles: world avg M_w = 80.398 +- .025 -- .02% precision.

-- W asym measts: very useful for pinning down pdf's

-- WZ production

-- ZZ production - will be impt for Higgs signals at LHC.

-- Higgs search: currently they are at 1.58*SM at 160GeV. The SM prediction now is 95% CL below 160 GeV, and with 8ifb they can rule out at 160 GeV at 95% CL. depending on its mass, it decays in various ways and thus the limits vary depending on the the Higgs mass.

-- Yes, if no evidence is seen in the next 2 yrs, there will be tension with Susy also since the lightest Higgs should be at a low mass.

Exciting times!
